Athletic Director's Update

Hi All,

Certainly some unprecedented times we're currently facing... I hope this entry finds you, your family and friends well and safe! At times like this, we're certainly reminded of what's most important to us!

I know there are many questions circling around these past few days, so I wanted to give a brief update on where things currently stand with school and spring sports.

Right now, based on Governor Baker's declaration, schools are closed down through April 7th. This will undoubtedly be revisited in the coming weeks as more information becomes available here in the Commonwealth.

The MIAA's Board of Directors met and they've let us know the Spring Sports season is on-hold until Monday April 27th. See memo below:

Please note this date will be revisited in the coming weeks as well. There is the potential we see this date moved further out too. Any new information we receive will be updated in this blog and will also be posted on our Twitter account using the handle @ihstigers

During this shutdown period, please take the time to take care of yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. These things are very important in keeping yourself and those around you well. These are very trying times, so finds ways to try new things, get into a daily routine, eat well... get enough sleep... hydrate... exercise and reach out to people daily. Keeping connections with colleagues, friends and family, even remotely, is key!

Also, please follow the directives from our National, State and Local Leaders... Social Distancing is our new norm for the foreseeable future and the more it's practiced, the better chance we have at beating this virus and getting back to the things we all miss and love!

Be Well,

-Tom Gallagher
